BET Awards To Be Held Virtually This Year On

Sunday, June 28th.

The 2020 BET Awards ceremony will be held virtually this year. The network shared that they will be moving forward with their beloved programming this year, but the ceremony will now be entirely online.

The BET Awards is the biggest celebration of Black culture and entertainment every year, and the network shared that it has no intention of changing that even with the pandemic. This year’s ceremony will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Award show and the 40th anniversary of the network. It will be held via “innovative techniques and artist-generated content” on Sunday, June 28th.

President of the network Scott Mills said in a statement, “Our community, and the many millions who love Black culture, look to the BET Awards for signature moments of enrichment, entertainment and empowerment. Recognizing the unique role the BET Awards plays for so many, and the challenging times we find ourselves in, we know it was more important than ever to deliver the BET Awards in 2020.”
